Dr Feras Alasali
Principal Investigator Associate Professor at The Hashemite UniversityDr Feras Alasali serves as the Director of the Renewable Energy Center at the Hashemite University in Jordan. In addition to his leadership role, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, bringing over six years of experience in optimal and predictive control models for energy storage systems and LV network applications. Feras obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Reading in 2019.
His research interests are centered on control models for distributed generation and LV networks, load forecasting, and power protection systems. Currently, Feras is exploring the application of emerging technologies such as machine learning and optimization methods. His work aims to optimally simulate network loads, design protection systems for micro and smart grids, and address various engineering challenges.
Dr Anas Almajali
Co-Investigator Associate Professor at The Hashemite UniversityDr. Anas AlMajali Anas AlMajali is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer
Engineering - The Hashemite University. He received his PhD and MS degrees in computer engineering from
the University of Southern California in Fall 2014 and Fall 2008 respectively. He received his BSc in
computer engineering from the University of Jordan in 2005. His main research interest is in computer
and computer networks security, smart grid security and cyber-physical systems.
Currently, Dr.
AlMajali is a senior IEEE member. He is also the secretary of the Jordan Joint Chapter of the IEEE
Computer and Computational Intelligence Societies (CS/CIS) for 2022 and 2023 and a member of the
executive committee of the IEEE Jordan Section.
Dr Ali Hayajneh
Co-Investigator Assistant Professor at The Hashemite UniversityDr. Ali Hayajneh currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Hashemite University in Zarqa, Jordan. Dr. Hayajneh earned his BSc and MSc degrees from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in Irbid, Jordan, in 2010 and 2014, respectively. He later obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
His research has garnered support from the Royal Academy of Engineering through two programs: Transfer Systems through Partnerships (TSP) and Distinguished International Associate (DIA). These programs focus on areas such as smart agriculture, drone-assisted micro-irrigation, and tiny machine learning on edge IoT devices.
Dr. Hayajneh's research interests span a wide range of topics, including drone-assisted wireless communications, public safety communication networks, backscatter communication, deep learning, and power harvesting. He is also deeply involved in the study of stochastic geometry, device-to-device (D2D) and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, modeling of heterogeneous networks, cognitive radio networks, and cooperative relay networks. Additionally, his work encompasses edge computing and reinforcement learning.
Prof Awni Itradat
Co-Investigator Vice president at The Hashemite UniversityProf Awni Itradat is Vice-president and Dean of Engineering at the Hashemite University, as well as a Professor of Computer Engineering. He received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan in 2000, followed by his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2008.
In 2009, he was appointed as the chairman of the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering in the Hashemite University. He has also served as a Director of the ICT and E-learning Center at the Hashemite University (2010-2016).
Moreover, he served as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Hashemite University (2016-2018). His research interests include Computer Architecture, Networks theory, Design of VLSI circuits and systems, Interconnects Modeling and Design, Reconfigurable Circuits, High Level Synthesis and Resource Allocation of 3D- and 2D-Circuits and Systems.

Salah AbuGhalyon
Assistance Researcher and Lab Instructor Computer Engineering Department at Hashemite UniversitySalah AbuGhalyon was born in Amman, Jordan, in 1991. He received his BSc. Degree in Computer Engineering from the Hashemite University in 2013, and a M.Sc. Degree in Computer Engineering/Embedded Systems from Yarmouk University in 2016. He has been certified as HUAWEI AI Instructor in 2020. His current research interest includes cyber-physical security, risk assessment of cyber physical threats.
Eyad Zarour
Assistance Researcher Electrical Engineering Department at Hashemite UniversityEyad Zarour was born in Zarqa, Jordan, in 1998. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from AL Balqa Applied University, Jordan, in 2020. He also has a M.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from the University of Jordan. His research interests include: Power System Analysis and Power System Protection, as well as Renewable Energy and Smart Grid.
Naser El-Naily
Researcher College of Electrical and Electronics Technology-Benghazi, LibyaNaser El-Naily was born in Libya. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc. degrees from The University of Benghazi, Libya, in 2010. His current Research interests include power system protection and control, distributed generation, microgrids, intelligent grids, applications of artificial intelligence, and to the Integration of Renewable Energy and distributed generation into Electric Grids, cyber-physical threats, risk assessment of cyber physical threats.
